Role

Social Media & Content Lead — Pro Bono

Objective

Build a stronger and more consistent digital presence for the academy, support player recruitment, increase visibility within the local football community, and strengthen communication around the teams, players, coaches, and academy activities.

Project Overview

I manage the digital presence and content for FC Leivadia 2022 Youth Academy, combining social media marketing with player recruitment, on-location content creation, and ongoing community communications.

The content strategy follows the actual rhythm of a football academy rather than relying solely on match results. Throughout the season, I plan and create content around player recruitment, trials, training, match days, coaching announcements, team updates, achievements, trips, and other moments that help communicate what being part of the academy is actually like.

Player recruitment is an important part of the work. During key registration periods, I develop targeted campaigns for specific age groups and positions, including campaign messaging and graphics, while clearly communicating practical information for players and parents.

I also attend selected games, training sessions, and academy activities to capture original photo and video content. This is used for match-day coverage, reels, recaps, behind-the-scenes content, player moments, and other storytelling that gives the academy a more authentic and active online presence.

Beyond public-facing social media, I support communication with the parent community around schedules, fees, equipment, trips, deadlines, and academy announcements. Communication is adapted for Greek- and English-speaking audiences where required, with an emphasis on keeping practical information clear and accessible.

The overall approach is designed to present FC Leivadia as more than a collection of youth teams. The content builds visibility around the players, coaches, development, experiences, and community behind the academy, while supporting practical objectives such as recruitment and parent communication.

Outcome

The project has created a more structured and recognisable digital presence for the academy, connecting sports marketing, recruitment, original content creation, game-day coverage, and community communication within one ongoing social media system.
